why homework should not be given during national day holidays
national day is a day for us to relax and be patriotic. singapore is our homeland, and thus we must celebrate its birthday with peace and joy. but on the contrary, due to national day, we get a "long" weekend. excuse me, but dear teachers, long weekends is a cheap excuse for giving us more homework. HELLO? we have a life! i dont know about you but, we need to celebrate our nations birthday in peace. have you considered national day takes up sunday, maybe church takes up saturday, then we would be left with 1 day which is totally insufficient for us to keep up with the amount of crap you give us. yes i know exams are near, but can you spare us for a long weekend? i dont think you will ever read this but this is a warning to all teachers, extended holidays are not an excuse to give more homework. GET THAT CLEAR IN YOUR HEAD. as i have noted in my previous letters, having lots of homework squeezed into a day could have potentially fatal effects. you mya think this is a joke but i have scientific evidence and true stories to back my theory up. imagine your shitty homework takes up 3 hours. we have 5-6 subjects. that would give us 2 less hours of sleep. taking into consideration you take 45 minutes for meals. you dont want us to dirty your worksheets do you? 2 less hours of sleep would mean less concentration in school which in turn would lead to less knowledge learnt, soon we will start deteriorating in our work. and then you will give us more work to practice on which in turn will lead to more lack of sleep etc and so on... this is a worsening cycle which the end results would be dropping out of schoool. we dont want that to happen do we, as such, try not to eat too many apples. thank you.
